The big Hunter-class, sponsored by Mercedes-Benz, stays a Swiss specialty.
With his eight-year-old Hanoverian mare Graciella Pius Schwizer had the fourth Swiss victory of the last six years
it was the first time that Pius Schwizer, who is ambassador of Mercedes-Benz, won the Hunting class. Second and third in the 560 m long course with three alternative obstacles and the “Pulvermanns Grab” where Pénélope Leprevost (France) with Oscar and the British experienced rider Michael Whitaker with Twister.
The first three positions: the horses are all mares and under the first eight classified riders five are Swiss. 13,000 watched the competition, in which Steve Guerdat finished as fourth with Sidney, Werner Muff with Osiris du Goyen as fifth, seventh with Kepi de Valse was Hansueli Sprunger and his daughter Janika with Jl’s Komparse, third last year, finished as eighth.
